This cooker is very sturdy and puts out a very hot blue flame. The burner is wide and produces lots of flame. Pot size comes to play because of this. Opening right above burner is 9 3/4” apart from the surface your pot can sit on. Typical Bass Pro pot is almost to small in diameter to sit on top. It will work though. I’ve cooked a few times with it. Just make sure it’s centered on the burner. I’ve purchased a larger diameter pot because of this. Also a 53 quart or 62 quart pot fits perfectly on this burner for any crab or shrimp boil. Or deep fried Turkey. Recommended to friends and one of them purchased one and loves it. Only thing to remember is the size of pot you may need. A 14” diameter pot on the bottom is what I would recommend. Giving you at least 2 inches of surface for it to sit on each of the brackets.
